Early Life and Education
Arvind Krishna was born in 1962 in India. He earned his Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) and his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
Career
IBM
Krishna joined IBM in 1990. He has held various leadership positions within the company, including Senior Vice President of Cloud and Cognitive Software, Senior Vice President of IBM Research, and General Manager of IBM's Systems and Technology Group.
In April 2020, Krishna was appointed CEO and Chairman of IBM. Under his leadership, IBM has focused on cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and blockchain technology.

In addition to his role at IBM, Krishna is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
