FP2 was red-flagged twice amid downpours and further showers are expected

Lando Norris led the times ahead of Fernando Alonso with Max Verstappen third

The 2024 Canadian Grand Prix weekend is set to be wet, with heavy rain forecast for qualifying and the race.

FP2 was red-flagged twice on Friday due to heavy rain, and the forecast for Saturday is similar, with a 90% chance of rain.

The rain is expected to continue into Sunday, with a 60% chance of rain during the race.

If the race does start on a wet surface, it will be the first time since 2011.

The weather forecast for the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix weekend is as follows:

  • Friday: Scattered showers, high of 19 degrees Celsius
  • Saturday: Heavy rain, high of 17 degrees Celsius
  • Sunday: Rain, high of 18 degrees Celsius

The wet weather is expected to make for an exciting race, with drivers having to contend with slippery conditions and the potential for aquaplaning.
